Benchmark Litigation Honors Robbins Geller as “Plaintiff Firm of the Year”
At its annual litigation awards ceremony, Benchmark Litigation honored Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd LLP as “Plaintiff Firm of the Year” for 2024.
“We’re honored to have received this recognition from Benchmark once again. The award is a testament to our clients, who will seek justice and accountability all the way through trial, and that makes all the difference in terms of the recoveries and reforms we can achieve,” said Paul J. Geller, a partner at Robbins Geller.
Over the last year, the Firm has led numerous class action cases of historic and national dimension on behalf of investors and consumers.
- The Firm led several of the largest securities class action recoveries of 2023, securing shareholder recoveries from Wells Fargo ($300 million), Exelon ($173 million), McKesson ($141 million), Cardinal Health ($109 million), and Micro Focus ($107.5 million).
- The Second Circuit affirmed the $5.5 billion recovery in the Interchange antitrust litigation, the largest private antitrust class action recovery in history.
- Our attorneys have leadership roles in multidistrict litigations related to the U.S. opioids public health crisis, including In re National Prescription Opiate Litigation (which has recovered $50 billion for communities struggling with the fallout of the opioid crisis, thus far) and a suit against McKinsey (which recovered $230 million to counties, school districts, and local governments).
Benchmark sets its rankings after examining recent casework handled by law firms over the last year. Leading law firms and litigators are then asked to offer their professional opinions on the attorneys practicing within their state or national practice areas.
In recent years, peers and opposing counsel have emphasized the Firm’s “credible trial threat” as a distinguishing hallmark of our practice.
- Benchmark quoted one defense attorney stating: “We see Robbins Geller all the time, constantly . . . and they give me a genuine run for my money. They are serious about trying the case. I think that’s what sets them apart.”
- In connection with our Firm’s $809.5 million recovery for Twitter investors, Benchmark noted that the case “had the entire securities bar talking.” It quoted a peer as stating: “I’ll be honest . . . [a]nother plaintiff firm could have tagged Twitter for $100 million, maybe $200 million. Robbins Geller is the only one that could have gotten a settlement like that out of them, and that’s because they are a credible trial threat.”
