According to the complaint, the family alleged that Rodriguez died from an enlarged heart caused by drinking Alani Nutrition energy drinks and that the drinks “had inadequate warnings about the serious cardiac risks” of drinking Alani Nutrition. The Celsius Holdings class action lawsuit further alleges that according to NBC News, Celsius Holdings stated in response, among other things, “our policy is not to market or sample to anyone under 18.” On this news, the price of Celsius Holdings stock fell more than 4%, according to the complaint.
On June 4, 2026, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton allegedly announced an investigation into Celsius Holdings over concerns that its high-caffeine energy drinks are being marketed to children and teens.
