Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd LLP Ramps Up Trial Team Adding Additional Former Federal Prosecutor

February 15, 2012

Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd LLP (“Robbins Geller”) announced today that former Assistant U.S. Attorney, Jason A. Forge, has joined the firm, adding to the firm’s deep bench, which includes dozens of former federal and state prosecutors and SEC lawyers.  Partner Paul Geller noted that the hiring is in line with the firm’s litigation philosophy: “Jason's experience trying complex fraud cases to juries enabled him to hit the ground running the day he joined us."

Forge, who worked with the U.S. Attorney’s Offices in Los Angeles, Alexandria, and San Diego, has been named a partner in the firm’s San Diego office.  For the past decade, Forge has investigated, prosecuted and tried cases involving public corruption, mail, wire and healthcare fraud, money laundering and tax evasion, including the largest corruption scheme in congressional history.  Partner Mike Dowd, who recently led the Robbins Geller team that obtained what is believed to be the largest jury verdict ever returned in a securities class action in Lawrence E. Jaffe Pension Plan v. Household International, Inc., Lead Case No. 02-C-5893 (N.D. Illinois), said, “Jason is smart and aggressive.  He's a perfect fit for our trial team."

According to the Honorable Carlos R. Moreno (Ret.), who sat on the California Superior Court, the California Supreme Court, and the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, “Jason tried a criminal case in my courtroom when he was an AUSA and I was a federal district court judge in the Central District of California.  He impressed me as a skilled trial lawyer who was smart, ethical, and quick on his feet.  He maintained an excellent rapport with the court and its staff, opposing counsel and the jury.  He is a natural in the courtroom, commanding the respect and attention of all who are present with his organizational and legal skills.”
