Erin Brockovich to Host Community Meeting About Kent County Water Contamination

December 11, 2017

MEDIA ADVISORY

Attorney Representatives Will Provide Update On New Class Action Lawsuit

GRAND RAPIDS, MI (DEC. 11) — Environmental and consumer advocate Erin Brockovich will host a community meeting at Comstock Park High School on December 16 to speak with residents about the PFAS water contamination that is affecting Kent County. Groundwater testing revealed the contamination in the summer and fall of 2017 and many residents have been warned not to drink water from their wells for the foreseeable future.

On December 1, the first class action lawsuit was filed against Wolverine WorldWide and 3M for dumping toxic waste and polluting the groundwater in Belmont, Rockford, Plainfield and other areas of Kent County. The lawsuit seeks immediate blood testing, monitoring, and damages for residents who have been harmed by the pollution. Attorneys from The Miller Law Firm, Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd, and Weitz & Luxenberg will join Brockovich at the meeting to discuss the lawsuit and provide an update for residents.
