Robbins Geller Partner John Herman Named a Georgia Super Lawyer for Third Consecutive Year
On February 7, 2019, Robbins Geller partner John Herman was recognized as a 2019 Georgia Super Lawyer for the third consecutive year. John was selected using a multiphase selection process that includes independent research, as well as peer nominations and evaluations. Each year, only 5% of lawyers are honored as Super Lawyers. The annual selection is made through a statewide survey of lawyers, independent research evaluation of candidates, and peer reviews within each practice area. John led a team that successfully enforced the intellectual property rights of U.S. Ethernet Innovations, LLC, winning two jury trial victories in federal court in U.S. Ethernet Innovations, LLC v. Texas Instruments Incorporated and U.S. Ethernet Innovations, LLC v. Ricoh Americas Corporation. He has also worked on several noteworthy cases that have successfully achieved favorable results such as the settlement in Community Health Systems which resulted in a $60 million payment to the company, the largest recovery in a shareholder derivative action in Tennessee and the Sixth Circuit, and unprecedented corporate governance reforms that included two shareholder nominated directors to the Community Health Board of Directors.
John has been recognized many times for his legal work by both his peers and legal publications. For instance, he is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America and was voted by his peers as one of the leading intellectual property litigators in the Southeast. In addition to being named a Super Lawyer numerous times, John was also ranked on the “Top 100” Georgia Super Lawyers list. John was also listed as one of “Georgia’s Most Effective Lawyers” by Legal Trend magazine.
