Paul Geller Named a South Florida Best Lawyer

For the fifth consecutive year, Paul J. Geller was named a 2021 South Florida Best Lawyer for his work in Mass Tort/Class Actions by Best Lawyers®. Earlier this year, Paul was named a Best Lawyer in America by the publication, which reserves this honor for “extraordinary lawyers” who have demonstrated "outstanding professional excellence.”

Paul is a member of the Firm’s Executive and Management Committees and head of the Firm’s Consumer Practice and Privacy Group. He serves in a leadership position on behalf of governmental entities and other plaintiffs in litigation concerning the nationwide prescription opioid epidemic. Paul and the Robbins Geller litigation team recently settled a case against Facebook for $650 million for a class of Illinois Facebook users in In re Facebook Biometric Info. Privacy Litig., the largest all-cash privacy settlement ever. The case alleges Facebook used facial recognition technology to extract and store users’ biometric identifiers without the consent required by the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act.  The final approval hearing for the settlement is set for early 2021.
