Partners Paul Geller and Stuart Davidson Named 2020 Most Effective Lawyers by Daily Business Review

The Daily Business Review announced its 16th Annual Most Effective Lawyers in South Florida list, and recognized partners Paul Geller and Stuart Davidson. Paul and Stuart were awarded this honor for their work serving as class counsel in some of the nation’s most significant privacy cases, such as In re Facebook Biometric Information Privacy Litig. ($650 million recovery, the largest privacy class action settlement, pending approval), a cutting-edge class action concerning Facebook’s alleged privacy violations through its collection of users’ biometric identifiers without informed consent. Stuart also served as class counsel in In re Yahoo! Inc. Customer Data Sec. Breach Litig. ($117.5 million recovery).

Paul is a managing partner of the Firm and head of the Consumer Fraud and Privacy group. He was part of the leadership team representing consumers in the massive Volkswagen “Clean Diesel” Emissions case, which settled for more than $17 billion, the largest consumer class action recovery. Paul currently serves on the Plaintiffs’ Executive Committee to spearhead approximately 3,000 federal lawsuits brought on behalf of governmental entities and other plaintiffs in the sprawling litigation concerning the nationwide prescription opioid epidemic, and is co-lead counsel in In re EpiPen (Epinephrine Injection, USP) Mktg., Sales Practices & Antitrust Litig.

Stuart also focuses on complex consumer class actions, including cases involving deceptive and unfair trade practices, privacy and data breach issues, and antitrust violations. In addition to serving as class counsel for In re Facebook Biometric Information Privacy Litig. and In re Yahoo! Inc. Customer Data Sec. Breach Litig., Stuart currently serves as plaintiffs’ co-lead counsel in In re Am. Medical Collection Agency, Inc. Customer Data Sec. Breach Litig.
