Robbins Geller Partner John Herman Recognized as a Georgia Super Lawyer for Second Consecutive Year
On February 22, 2018, Robbins Geller partner John Herman was selected as a 2018 Georgia Super Lawyer for the second consecutive year. Herman was selected using a multiphase selection process that includes independent research, as well as peer nominations and evaluations. Each year, 5% of lawyers are honored as Super Lawyers. The annual selection is made through a statewide survey of lawyers, independent research evaluation of candidates, and peer reviews within each practice area. The Super Lawyers lists are published nationwide in Super Lawyers Magazine and in leading city and regional magazines and newspapers across the country. As the Chair of the Firm’s Intellectual Property Practice, Herman manages the Firm’s Atlanta office. In leading a team of Robbins Geller attorneys, Herman successfully enforced the intellectual property rights of U.S. Ethernet Innovations, LLC, winning two jury trial victories in federal court in U.S. Ethernet Innovations, LLC v. Texas Instruments Incorporated and U.S. Ethernet Innovations, LLC v. Ricoh Americas Corporation. He has also worked on several noteworthy cases that have successfully achieved favorable results for his clients, including the shareholder derivative settlement on behalf of Community Health Systems. This case resulted in a $60 million payment to the company, the largest recovery in a shareholder derivative action in Tennessee and the Sixth Circuit, and unprecedented corporate governance reforms that included two shareholder nominated directors to the Community Health Board of Directors.
Herman has been recognized numerous times for his legal work by both his peers and legal publications. He is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America and was voted by his peers as one of the leading intellectual property litigators in the Southeast. Aside from being named a Super Lawyer numerous times, Herman was also ranked on the “Top 100” Georgia Super Lawyers list. Additionally, he was listed as one of “Georgia’s Most Effective Lawyers” by Legal Trend magazine.
