Chambers USA Names Robbins Geller Attorneys to its Best Lawyers Rankings
Chambers USA noted that Robbins is “a leading figure in the California plaintiffs’ Bar [with] expertise in pursuing securities matters for his plaintiff clients.” Robbins, a founding partner of Robbins Geller, has served as lead counsel in more than 100 securities-related actions and has recovered more than $2 billion for injured shareholders in cases such as In re UnitedHealth Grp. Inc. PSLRA Litig. ($925 million recovery and sweeping corporate governance reforms); In re TXU Sec. Litig. ($150 million recovery plus significant corporate governance reforms); and In re Dollar Gen. Sec. Litig. ($172.5 million recovery).
The publication commended Rudman for his “strong reputation in the securities arena [who] is routinely engaged by shareholders to bring recovery class actions.” Rudman, also a founding partner of Robbins Geller, has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars for shareholders, including a $200 million recovery in Motorola, a $129 million recovery in Doral Financial, an $85 million recovery in Blackstone, a $74 million recovery in First BanCorp, a $65 million recovery in Forest Labs and a $50 million recovery in TD Banknorth. Chambers USA commended him for being “an exceedingly effective plaintiffs’ lawyer. He has good experience and he's realistic, pragmatic and has perspective."
Coughlin, referred to as a “Senior Statesmen,” has been lead counsel for several major securities matters, including one of the earliest and largest class action securities cases to go to trial, In re Apple Computer Sec. Litig., No. C-84-20148 (N.D. Cal.). Chambers USA states that Coughlin “has deep experience representing plaintiffs in securities disputes [and] has handled a host of highly significant cases in the securities field.” Some additional prominent securities class actions prosecuted by Coughlin include, the Enron litigation, in which $7.3 billion was recovered; the Qwest litigation, in which a $445 million recovery was obtained; and the HealthSouth litigation, in which a $671 million recovery was obtained.
Chambers USA is an annual publication ranking attorneys and law firms in all 50 states. The publication rankings are based on the detailed research of 150 full-time editors and researchers employed by its London office.
