Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd obtained class certification in two securities class action cases this week in UTStarcom and Novatel.
On May 12, 2010 in In re UTStarcom, Inc. Sec. Litig. (N.D. Cal.), the Hon. James Ware certified a class of investors who purchased or otherwise acquired UTStarcom, Inc. securities. In certifying the class, Judge Ware rejected all of defendants’ challenges to the class representatives’ typicality and adequacy. Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd is lead counsel for the UTStarcom class.
Also on May 12, 2010, in In re Novatel Wireless Sec. Litig. (S.D. Cal.), the Hon. Marilyn L. Huff certified a class of investors who purchased Novatel Wireless, Inc. common stock between February 27, 2007 and September 15, 2008 and who were damaged thereby. In certifying the class, Judge Huff concluded that “[p]laintiffs have met their burden of demonstrating that the requirements of Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 23 are satisfied.” Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd is lead counsel for the Novatel class.
